Underpasses serve as crucial pathways for public safety within communities, yet they can evoke unease after nightfall. Effective lighting not only enhances the feeling of safety but also fosters nighttime activity within urban areas. In this project, we took a proactive approach by fabricating custom cornice fixtures with infill panels, seamlessly connecting illuminated units to create a continuous line. This design minimises visibility of individual units, deterring vandalism.
By harnessing the power of LED technology, we achieved a remarkable 70% reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional lighting systems. This not only contributes to cost savings but also aligns with sustainability goals, making the underpass lighting solution both efficient and environmentally friendly.
