The memorial stands as a poignant symbol— a cross atop a hexagonal base adorned with plaques bearing the names of 233 courageous individuals from Bolsover and Hillstown who made the ultimate sacrifice in two world wars. Recognising the significance of such monuments in preserving our history, we believe they should not fade into obscurity after dark. With carefully positioned, energy-efficient lighting, these memorials can become not only enduring symbols of remembrance but also captivating features or landmarks within the local landscape. In this instance, we employed four Canon uplighters to achieve this effect, ensuring that the memorial shines with reverence and respect, even in the darkness of night.
